Perfect Contracting completed the demolition of a full staircase, located at Birrong Station.
The scope of work for this project involved:
- Installation of signage around the job site to account for road and pedestrian traffic;
- Disconnection and certification of all services, installation of temporary access;
- Removal of the light cladding and sections of the wall;
- Core drilling;
Brace the existing staircase at the location of every lifting point to prevent buckling. Each lifting point was braced using flat bars welded to the glances of the PFCs at each lift point;
Rigging the existing stairs from lifting points by using a 500T crane;
Cutting by the rigger through the top landing using a wire saw and cutting free all steel supports with an oxytocin kit;
Processing the stairs on the ground with a 14T excavator after they lifted.
