Perfect Hire supplied the manpower/some top-tier workers for the Canterbury Station Metro upgrade for Haslin.
Perfect Hire filled the order with forty skilled RIW labourers for a weekend possession and another five as back-ups.
All forty of their best needed to:
- holding the Safely Access the Rail Corridor qualification
- having a white card with the NSW Government Safe Work logo (online white cards are rejected)
- having a Track Machine Operator ticket for machines they may be operating (which means they need the original non-rail ticket as well and both need to be current)
- having Perfect Labour Hire as their primary employer in the RIW system – all of this needs to go through all the checks and balances by the RIW portal staff
- working on the dayshift and nightshift
The scope of work for this project involved:
- Hand digging a trench in one piece dust suits for hazardous materials;
- Demo sawing into the asphalt and laser-straight cutting;
- Collection of spoil in bulker bags and palletising it;
- Slinging acres of re-bar for pour;
- Erecting hundreds of metres of temporary fencing;
- Moving scores of water barriers;
- Excavation of hazardous material;
- Weatherproofing and delineating the trench;
- Relocation of the bulker bags of asphalt and spoil to the laydown yard via the hi-rail crane and Telehandler;
- Pressure washing of both platforms.
Perfect Hire had 100% fill the order. Haslin was super enthused about how the Perfect boys worked and behaved. They acknowledged it was a tough job but that we did it as requested, to the design and with a smile on our faces.
