Perfect Contracting completed demolition works at Darling Point Road, Pyrmont.
Standing at over 100 years old, and originally built between 1904-1912, this heritage-listed building is an iconic fixture in Sydney’s history.
The scope of work for this project involved:
- Structural demolition of walls;
- Slab penetration;
- Widening and removal of various windows and walls;
- Removal of the ground slab;
- Concrete cutting and coring;
- Removal of bonded and friable asbestos;
- Removal of 3 lifts over 7 levels;
- Demolition of stair cases, pipework, plat and steel framing;
- Installation of lintels and structural elements to the building’s fixtures;
- Applying structural grousing and setting up structural propping.
Throughout the demolition works, there were around 8-10 operators, including a supervisor, working on-site daily. To complete the project, a variety of excavators, including 3.5-5T, and an S70 Bobcat, were utilized. The Revy works were completed within the expected timeframe, spanning approximately 12 months.
